Brotherly Love

I recently had the privilege to photograph two great young men, who are also blessed to be brothers. It was another beautiful fall day, and the boys had fun clowning around, cracking jokes, and playing with their playful border collie, Izzy.

As they cooperatively sat, stood, leaned against trees, stretched atop brick ledges and more, it was a blast watching them relax and begin to have fun with it all.  Truly, brothers-- especially when so close in age-- are often the best of friends!

It is a joy to watch sons grow from knee high in corduroy overalls, to finding yourself looking upward into their eyes. We see in teenage sons little boys crossing the bridge into manhood: We marvel at their larger hands, deepening voices and at their physical strength.

So, if you're an exhausted mother of little boys who leave a trail of mess and mud in their wake, remember that this, too, shall pass, for like brilliant autumn leaves carried in the wind, childhood flees, and boys become men.

On this Thanksgiving Eve, as we busily prepare for family and friends- find a quiet moment, take a deep breath, and be filled with the pure contentment of just simply being with your loved ones:  Remember to hold their hands, hug them, and tell them how much they mean to you.

And don't forget to take some pictures to mark the occasion.

Until next time, enjoy each day!
